The Curious Career of Leslie Cesario

As tax time approaches, it’s time to get your books in order for business or personal tax return preparation.  Leslie A. Cesario, Certified Public Accountant, and her firm of 4 women know how to help people understand the meaning behind their numbers. This knowledge began with Leslie's double major in Accounting and Business Education and grew through her client interactions and teaching experiences. Clients who come to her firm from other CPA firms often say they felt talked at rather than talked to with their prior CPA. Leslie and her staff strive to help their clients feel at ease with “their books” and one of their goals is to make the client aware of all the tax deductions and savings they are entitled to.  At Leslie A. Cesario, Ltd, they  pride themselves on planting the “accounting” seeds to help their clients’ businesses grow and prosper while taking advantage of tax planning and savings.  Leslie’s individual tax prep clients praise her firm’s personal service, tax expertise, and frequent communication throughout the year on tax changes and items of interest customized to each client.

An integral part of the Leslie A. Cesario approach to client service is timeliness. Clients have told her firm that other CPA firms are not particularly responsive to their concerns.   Leslie and her staff normally gets back to clients within 24 hours, sensitive to the pace of business and life today. This firm was started with a single principle in mind:  to provide the highest level of personalized service.

Services include tax planning and tax return preparation, payroll processing and bookkeeping, as well as consulting on cash flow and budgeting issues. If you have a new business, they specialize in helping you get your business started right, including your bookkeeping.  Several tax preparation clients have come to Leslie A. Cesario, Ltd and “felt the weight of the stress and burden of taxes and the IRS” lifted off their shoulders when they have walked out her office door.  Several clients have gotten larger refunds on not only their current year taxes, but Leslie A. Cesario, Ltd. has found errors in past year tax returns and gotten previous year refunds for new clients.

7 Tips to Sell Your Home

Even in an improving market, selling your home is a stressful experience. There is a lot you can do to make it go smoothly. Here are some of the best ideas:

1. Start repairs and improvements as soon as possible. If you're unsure about the soundness of your home, have your own professional home inspection. This can keep a deal from falling through and save more than it costs. Keep a copy of the inspection to reassure prospective... Read More

5 Eco-friendly Flooring Options

Is your carpet harboring a million-strong population of dust mites? Are your vinyl tiles cracked and faded? Have your ceramic tiles broken into hundreds of tiny shards? It might be time for a new floor.

But before you replace your carpet with traditional hardwood, consider purchasing green flooring. Environmentally friendly cork, bamboo, and linoleum may cost a bit more than the box of laminate flooring at the big box store... Read More

Will I Owe Taxes for the Sale of My Home?

If you're selling your primary residence, chances are you can avoid capital gains taxes entirely. The Section 121 Exclusion of the federal tax code specifies that the first $250,000 ($500,000 for joint filers) of profit is exempt from capital gains taxes if the seller has owned and lived in the property as their primary residence for at least two of the preceding five years.

Two Year Rule Exceptions
Even if you have not lived in the property for at least two of the last five years, you may still be able to exclude a certain amount of the profit from the sale from capital gains taxes... Read More

Hot Interior Colors for 2014

Grey - the color that connotes intellect - is one hue homeowners will be incorporating into their interiors next year. So says Debbie Zimmer, paint and color expert for the Paint Quality Institute, a leading source of information on interior color and design.

In her annual color forecast for 2014, Zimmer is supporting grey in a big way: "It's the hot new neutral, a sleek and sophisticated color option that adds refinement to almost any room.

"Walls that are painted grey are great backdrops for almost any style of décor, and grey is such a dignified color that it can elevate... Read More
