Celebrating Labor Day & National Dog Week
Labor day is annually held on the first Monday of September. It was originally organized to celebrate various labor associations' strengths of and contributions to the United States economy. It is largely a day of rest in modern times. Many people mark Labor Day as the end of the summer season and a last chance to make trips or hold outdoor events.
The fourth week in September is National Dog Week! This special week is a time to perhaps spoil your dog a bit more than normal. Click the link below for fun things to do with or for your dog!

Home Prices Increase as the Supply of Homes Decreases

Out of 147 metropolitan statistical areas, 110 saw the median existing single-family home price rise when compared to the number of closings reported a year ago. Three statistical areas saw no change... Read More

Some carefully placed props or ornaments can add charm to your garden. But, the key word here is "careful"; haphazardly adding items around your landscape will make your garden into a cluttered mess. To avoid a chaotic look, stick with a consistent theme. Here are some style ideas.

Find Inspiration for New
Paint Colors
Many home-owners want to escape Blah Beige, but lack courage to choose color. Narrow the gap between nervous indecision and a satisfying finish: find inspiration, file your ideas, then test them. This creative process takes a bit of time, but it sure beats "winging it" in the paint chip aisle, and will guarantee a faster path to the perfect palette.

National Home Sales Decline May be Due to Less Inventory
An increase in buyers should be the solution to a struggling real estate market. But when the number of buyers exceeds the number of homes available for sale, market growth is constricted. Research conducted by the National Association of Realtors shows fewer buyers are signing real estate contracts; could a lack of inventory be to blame?
The Pending Home Sales Index, a measurement of the number of signed real estate contracts on existing homes, saw its fourteenth consecutive month of year-over-year gains in June. However, the index fell to 99.3, down 1.4 percent from May's index of a downwardly revised 100.7. On a positive note, the current index level is 9.5 percent higher than the June 2011 recorded level... Read More |

Five Rules for Buying a Foreclosure or Short Sale
Buyers are still clamoring for real estate deals in this market. Foreclosures and short sales offer some of the best bargains, but also have a higher risk level. Still, more than four in five adults think foreclosures and short sales can be good deals, according to a recent American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) survey.
Some analysts say the rebound has begun and home prices may rise by the end of 2012. This means now may be buyers' last chance to take advantage of affordable properties and low interest rates. If you want to score a bargain before the housing market recovers, you'll need to follow a few rules to invest with certainty... Read More
